Sex offenders in Olympia? (McCleary: low crime, neighborhood, school)

I noticed that there is a high ratio of sex offenders in olympia is this accurate? Are there a lot of sex offenders? I have also noticed that a lot of them have a similar address is there an institution in olympia or something or is there really that many sex offenders out on the street?

There are sex offenders everywhere. Fortunately in WA they are listed on a website for your protection. I live in a rural area of NW WA Wehave 13 sex offenders within 3 miles of our neighborhood. This neighborhood is considered very low crime. However, we are notified by mail everytime a sex offender moves into the neighborhood and I don't know any parents in the neighborhood that don't stand out on the edge of the street with their children to make sure they get on the school bus safely.
In general, Sex offenders don't come to you, they commit crimes of convenience. If you are vigilant and protect your kids, it should not be a problem.

I don't know about Olympia, but Gray's Harbor County seems to have a disproportionate number of resident sex offenders.

And, a rather large number of sex related crimes.

I think that when all the searching, hoping and praying is over, the recent disappearance of the little girl in McCleary will prove to be another one.

Olympia has been rated the safest mid-sized city in the US these past two years in a row. Sex offenders are found everywhere.

Yep they are every where don't know what street your talking about but there is a jail in Olympia.
Olympia is a safe city. I feel fine walking any hour in the town as a single woman. Don't know if that came out right? Just take the intention.
