Default Relocated from Chicago to Anacortes - Suggestions for Making Friends

Recent transplant from the Midwest - Chicago. After 46 years of harsh winters and snow - I love the Pacific Northwest!!!!
Don't believe the hype - it does not rain all the time here! This summer was absolutely AWESOME!
I Love the climate, the new house and the surrounding areas.
I've been sight seeing, exploring and shopping in Oak Harbor, Bellingham, Burlington, LaConner, Edison and of course Seattle and am setteling in to my new state. I will not miss Chicago's winters, the Hawk or shuveling snow!
What I do truly miss are my friends and support network back home. Any suggestions for making new friends here?
I live in Anacortes and work in Sedro-Woolley.
Angela

I always tell people Do something, Learn something, Share something, Change something - Meetup.com is a great place to meet new people. I joined mom groups and started one that was very successful. It was such relief after not having friends after I moved. They have so many different types of groups from hobby to just social. Or you can start one. Its great!

Default Toastmasters

Join Toastmasters club in your area. It is a good way to make new friends. There are lots of clubs in the area. It is inexpensive and fun.
