Default Mukilteo to Marysville area info

Hi, I am from WI but living in Miami. Before you get jealous about the weather, there is such a thing as too much sun... Anyway, I have friends that live north of Seattle in Marysville and another on Whidbey Island. They describe these areas as "rain shadow" areas, as in, it doesn't rain as much there as it does further south toward Seattle. They say that if it does rain it's usually in the am and then clears up the rest of the day.

Does anyone have anything to add about that?

I just came back from a visit and loved the Mukilteo and Marysville areas, and like that Washington has aspects of both WI (fresh and green) and Miami (diversity, culture). We would be in a middle income bracket, so if we did look to relocate, would these be good areas to move to? Feel free to add anything else about these areas.

I personally like Mukilteo a lot more than Marysville. It's prettier, a little closer to things, more neighborhoody.

Marysville and Mukilteo are not in the rain shadow.

Mukilteo is a nice area and Marysville is a sprawly s**thole full of ticky-tacky neighborhoods with bored teenagers roaming the streets.

Both Mukilteo and Marysville are in the convergence zone- meaning you get more rainy days and stronger storms than down in Seattle. If you like the rain shadow, look at parts of Whidbey, Camano Island or Anacortes.

Mukilteo is a nice town.
