I was going to reply, but then after looking closely I realized this was just too absurd to not be a troll. Well crafted, I must say.

OK... I am 34 and have 3 kids ages 15, 12 and 12, also my Mom, husband and our 3 dogs(: we ARE moving somewhere in western Washington. I would LOVE recomendations as to where. We live in DEEP south Texas right now, its HOT, we don't have seasons, humidity Jobs is my #1 question, I can find a house since I'll be selling mine. I DO NOT want to live IN Seattle, would prefer a smaller town. For whoever said there were no jobs, look online, it had 27000 for the state of Washington. My husband has a good job here, he works in the chemical plant. If anyone has any suggestions on good towns to live in. A place to get a good paying job, that would be AWESOME. Forks was a thought, but there would be a drive, and I'm not sure we want one that long. Also SCHOOLS, my oldest will (hopefully) start her sophmore year there (wherever there is) and she is in advance classes with dual credit. She plays volleyball and softball, so school sports are important too. I do not want them in where there are alot of drugs trouble makers, or troubled kids (I know some are everywhere, I just dont want the overabundance) Thanks for any help you can give me!!

AVA, Forks is not what I would consider liberal at all. In fact, complete opposite. I find it to be one of the most conservative places on the OP. You may want to look at Port Townsend--liberal, very community involved, artsy/craftsy place. Many artists/writers in that area.
The schools in that area might get money, but I don't often hear about the great job that is happening in the school. Maybe they use it for the school bus that takes the sports team to away games.

Don't move to Forks, or your kids will likely become drug addicts, suicidal, or both. If you have only visited Forks during the summer, you have not visited Forks.

Look at rainfall charts. Then look at the terrible school statistics.

Moving a family to Forks is child abuse, unless you are a family of employed loggers.

Twilight is Hollywood lies filmed in Oregon. If you like Twilight movie, look into St. Helens, Oregon.

Andy- after all I have read, I am not moving my family to Forks, because I don't want my kids around drugs. It has nothing to do with the Twlight movies, we looked around the whole state as well as Cali, and Oregon when we were on vacation, the OP won as the prettiest and coolest. As we live in a drought stricken mosquito infested area now where the summer temps reach 110+ for almost 3 months straight with 100% humidity and everything revolves around a chemical plant.

I am glad you have seen the light on Forks. There are some great communities on or near the Olympic Peninsula that should work for you and your family.

Be sure to visit during winter time. Our winter weather isn't for everyone. Unless you can figure out a genius way to live in Texas in the winter and here in the summer, you should see first hand if you can handle it.

A lot of people visit here in the summer and decide to move here, but then have a miserable winter here. I loved Texas, but I have only been there in the winter months. Visiting there in the summertime would be prudent for me before considering moving there.

I have NO desire to come back to Texas. Ever. I've had enough, I'm not sure where you visited here, but it obviously wasn't where I live. My brother lives in Northern California, if I need some sunshine, I'll go visit him. Can you give me the name of those great communities?

Im 21 and a single mother and looking for a nice small town to raise my daughter, we love to be outdoors and love the woods, ive done some research on forks and love what i have seen... i was wondering if a single parent could make living there with rent and small town jobs? I live in Barlow, Ohio also a small town and i know how things are here with jobs and rent, the move would be a big jump for us and I just need a bit more information before i make my final say. Thank you

I find this Twilight fascination kind of funny - even in WA hardly anyone would have considered moving there a few years ago unless they had family in the area. It's really nothing special as far as a place to live, along with most of the peninsula. Few young people decide to stay out there, outside of the military operations in Kitsap county.

It's beautiful during the summer, but there really isn't much out there. And no, it's not a good place at all for someone to move looking for a job where you can support yourself and your kid.

Do yourself a favor and read this thread from start to finish, this has all been said before, and then some.

Western Washington is a great place to live, but the podunk towns out on the peninsula can be horrible depressing places - ask Kurt Cobain...oh wait.
