Leaving WA at the end of the month, sad? Happy? I don't know
I retired from the military last year, have all of my properties sold here in WA and have 5 job offers (finally). 1 is here, while the rest are on the East Coast or in the midwest. I'm taking a position with a train company in Kansas city, MO starting in the mid 50's. That should equate to the 70's or so here, add that to my military retirement and I should be able to live on it.
I'm happy and sad to be leaving WA, I'm not looking forward to the heat, but I won't miss the traffic here or the clouds.
Take care all of you new comers, Western WA is great, but it gets old after a while, but if you commute to Seattle it gets old pretty quick.
Take care, have fun
Tony

Yup, me too, I agree.
Glad you got the railroad job. I think that was the best out of the ones you mentioned.
Good luck!
Thanks.

Congratulations! Glad you got the rail job - hopefully you either fall in love with KC or you're able to transfer to TN soon.
We're leaving at the end of next week, heading to southern Wisconsin. There will be some things that I'll miss but endless grey winters won't be one of them and the traffic won't be amongst them.

Thanks for the send off, I'm hoping to make it to TN eventually. I think you'll enjoy Wisconsin, I spent a few months there, it was nice, pretty inexpensive also.
I definitely will miss the Seattle area, but in no way will I miss the traffic.
Thanks to everyone and God bless to all,
Tony

Let us know how you like that area, would you please? My husband and I are looking at Missouri as a possible place to retire.
Have a good trip!
