Smile Thinking of moving to Washington

Hi Everyone,
I am from Tucson, AZ and I am sick of the desert. I know I would love to live in a more rural small community area.
I have been reading thru the forum here and found out a lot of information so I decided to take a trip up to Washington to see it for myself and try to narrow down where I would like to live if I did decide to move.
It was all so beautiful that I am still having problems narrowing down the search field and get down to some real in-depth research.
I fell in love with the Olympic Penisula. I escpecially liked Lake Quinault, South Bend, North Cove, Copalis Crossing area, Gardiner, Discovery Bay, and Deception Pass areas.

Does anyone have any other suggestions, or comments on the above listed areas?

Thank you for your input.

Port townsend is a nice community. It has some nice view spots of the islands and Puget Sound. Never lived there, but its a nice looking town.

I am fond of South Whidbey Island. I don't live there but the couple of times I have been there it has been absolutely enchanting.

I moved here to Forks wa. on the westend of the Olympic Penn... because I was tired of The Broke sunshine state, and the high cost of living there. I looked real hard at Forks because 3 years ago I found a nice house with 3 bedrooms 1 bath and a one car garage, and a hugh yard front and back, 1/3 acer of land, for under $80.000, and the tax's are under a 1000.00 a year. And the town has a local hospital, Collage, and a candy store two hardwear stores, a airport/drag strip, and only one bar that I have seen so far. And a lots of town school spirit, not mention the twilight thing that has breathed some life back into the city. This is a outdoorsmens type of town, because of the good hunting here and the fishing is great too. but if you smoke in this state it is a very costly! The price of cicgeretts here, is over $6.00, per pack. not a biggie if you don't smoke. the price of food up seems high, but its not to bad, you just have to remember that if you buy it here a truck brought it here from two directions, the south or the east, both on the Hwy 101 that during the winter can and has been shut down by land slids a long Lake Cresent. So stocking up is a good idea! oh and did mention that there is no free TV reception here, its dish tv or nothing. I am in my first winter here. so they tell me it rains a lot like a 144' or more here, ok I guess that the norm for a Rain forest. The air is very clean here I love this after seeing what you breath on San Diego or anywhere in Ca. and firewood here is easy to get you have two choices buy it or go get a permit and go find it, and cut and split it your self. I like the ladder because iot gives me a good reason to go out in the woods and use my pick up and chainsaws, and other fun tools the logger work with, not mention the exercise, or should I say the work out it takes to cut wood and then pick it up and move it to the road and load it on the pickup, and then take it home and split it and store it, in a dry area so it will cure, so you can burn it. So when you see some guy in the paper selling fire wood for $250.00 cord, thats a good deal. compard to doing it your self. Thats life around here I love it.
