Default Driving from Vancouver-Missoula MT in a Honda Fit in February

Hello! I found this forum while searching for information on a road trip i'm planning for Feb next year.. On the 7th we're looking at driving to Missoula for a concert; I have a 2008 Honda fit sport with stock tires. Should I get winter tires? Use another car? Will my car be fine? What kind of snow driving would we be looking at in early february? We'll be sticking to I-5, I-405, and I-90.

Any help is much appreciated!

It could get rough, especially as you approach the Rockies. I'd definitely have chains at least, plus enough basic auto emergency stuff to keep you okay for awhile if something went wrong.

It's that time of year again, people are planning what I call "lemming runs". Christmas in Frostbite Falls, 2000 miles from home.

OP, check out Horizon Air. If you buy well in advance it won't cost that much more than gas, really.

If you insist on driving, I'd get a rental, then any on-road problems will be the rental company's problem, not yours.

Default trip

I drove from Spokane to seattle twice a week from October to May. It can be bad. They do close the highway witthout warnings. Carry sleeping bags to stay warm since you will be parked on the roads with no way out. I would take an emergency kit with water a few high calorie bars and shovel. For a complete list you could go on to a AAA website or even WSDOT websites. A little preparation will make the trip both doable and fun.
