Default Suggestions?

I have a question for some of my relocating family members--married couple, no kids. One will be working in the Arlington/Granite Falls area and one in the Bellevue area. They plan to rent a house with a yard (they have a dog) and are in need of a suggested area to start looking for a house. Nothing fancy, but a decent neighborhood, and safe area. I suggested maybe Lake Stevens or Snohomish might work for a central location, but as I'm in Poulsbo and have never commuted to that area, I have no idea about traffic, etc. I'm sure it's probably horrible, but some areas may be better than others. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Lynn

Lake Stevens is a nice place to live. Traffic isn't to bad up in that area, since your at the base of the mountains. Lake Stevens has good schools and nice communities. Some of the hwys you drive on to get up to Granite Falls and Arlington are very fast narrow lanes, alot of deaths have happened in the past few years. Thats the only down side I can think of. Another thing I have found that its a little more sunny closer to the Puget sound than the mountains in and around Granite Falls.

Thanks! I've heard that Lake Stevens is a nice area. I remember hearing something on the news about dangerous "accident prone" highways in that area. Do you know which ones are the worst?

Hiway 9 and Hiway 2 are both undivided in most areas.

Snohomish, Monroe, Lake Stevens, and even Marysville are all growing. All have decent schools.
