Ferndale and Maple Falls (Nooksack: houses, neighborhoods, pharmacy)

I am looking at property in Ferndale and Maple Falls and working on comparing the two areas.

Does anyone know of a good resource for checking air quality for Ferndale and Maple Falls? I want to see history of air quality on a daily basis going back a few months, at least.

I'm not sure about air quality but the 2 places are very different. Ferndale is a nice small town, it has a grocery store, a dairy queen, new sonic, pharmacy, great furniture store etc. Like every small town there are some neighborhoods that are better than others. Maple Falls has nothing (as far as stores) but tough neighborhoods and drug houses.

If I'm not mistaken there's a significant Russian underworld influence out there.

Come to think of it I did meet some Russians at Nooksack Falls once.I thought they were vacationers from BC.What is there for the Russian Mafia to do out there?Strong arm the kayakers?

No, Maple Falls used to be rough, and it used to have severe drug problems with a Russian 'mob' of sorts up there. However police enforcement throughout the years has brought Peaceful Valley (Maple Falls) back to its namesake, the place is still a dump, but it is quite peaceful now. A completely different place than it was 10 years ago.
