Default Blaine, WA

I just got to Blaine this afternoon, Friday. I was headed to a resort on the beach when I was pulled over and given a speeding ticket for going 38 in a 25. The speed trap was at the bottom of a hill with at least a 20% grade. I was only coasting with my foot on the brake. No warning, no sympathy, just a $150 ticket. Apparently the city of Blaine is trying to raise revenue on the backs of it's guests. Well, this is one guest who won't be back.

I'm no fan of Blaine mind you, but you're deluding yourself if you think what happened to you doesn't happen in every town.

How was Semiahmoo?

Well you were speeding. Getting a ticket is frustrating, but the law showed you the speed limit. If you're stealing something and only steal something small, it's still against the law. It happens in every town, city or freeway. Blaine is actually a neat little area with lots of great views.

Agreed. I could sympathize using your first post on City-Data to complain about getting a ticket for going 3 or even 5 mph over the speed limit. However its a simple fact that most (if not all) cities in most states are going to write you a ticket for the 13 mph over the posted speed limit that you were doing. Sorry but it's simply the way law enforcement works everywhere...

Semiahmoo? I was guessing Birch Bay as the "trap" -
