Kittitas - Schools
Hi. I'm looking at moving to the Kittitas area. Looking for a small high school to fit my child's needs. Not necessarily special ed, but small classes, not a lot of stimulation. I was told about Kittitas over Ellensburg.
What is in Kittitas retail/professional services wise? I know Ellensburg is close.
Thanks. Valerie

"What is in Kittitas......"
My guess would be a gas station so you could get to E-burg to shop. The school serves about 600 students in grades K-12.

*laughs* ...good comments, Missy!
Hi Valerie.
It's been decades since I lived in Ellensburg but I can't even remember the gas station there in Kittitas. I'm sure there's more there now than what I remember of Kittitas.
Kittitas High School has only about 400 or so students so it is small. I think somebody mentioned that the high school building is brand new, though. It houses both the middle school and the high school, I believe.
Here's their website if you haven't already found it:

Thanks for posting.

I found the site - but wanted more of a feel about Kittitas - you are right, which I knew when I drove through there (like Thorp) - you miss it!!!! We settled on Ellensburg and are happy for now. I began to hate Seattle - it's a beautiful city, but I'm not a city gal. I like the slow pace, I like seeing the stars at night, and I like knowing my neighbors, and the smaller schools for my children. I've lived in small towns growing up, so I'm aware of the downsides, but we headed to Yakima one day and it was only a 1/2 hour to do some basic shopping. And, you can hit Bellevue w/in 1-1/2 hours, so a teenager can get their fix (smile). So for now, it's working. When the kids are gone (are they ever?) - it's my turn!!

Good choice. Yup, I graduated from Central so I love Ellensburg. I still may end up there someday if I get homesick.

It's really windy in that area.
