When it was happening I wasn't terribly thrilled, but after the fact I didn't regret it. And of course I learned a few lessons (I always learn lessons the hard way!)

Don't feel bad, I do too!

Nice. How did you get up there? I don't see a road on the map?

I've only been to Silver Lake close to that area but have always wondered if there's anything else to explore instead of going all the way up on the mountain.

Canyon Creek Road is the one that goes to the Damfino Lakes Trailhead. It's on my map, but maybe it's not on all maps. Once you get higher in the mountains it turns to gravel and gets pretty rough. I was in my brother's Honda CRV, and while you could do it in something with less ground clearance, it might be iffy in spots depending on conditions. Lots of very bad potholes! There are also several other forest service roads branching off of that one, but I didn't explore them. There are many gravel roads to explore in the Mt Baker Wilderness that may or may not be on a map!

Good to know. Thanks. If I ever make it some time in the summer up there, I'd like to try going all the way to Diablo Lake (I've heard it's very picturesque).

It was very beautiful, but crowded! Seems like everyone had the same idea today.
