Great shots, as usual, Maf! One thing I love about Seattle (and to a lesser extent, Bellingham) is getting to see all the ships. Growing up in a land-locked city that was something I rarely got to experience.

Rode down to the tulip festival today. But first, a few shots from Chuckanut Drive.

I spent my high school years as well as well as most of my 20s living in Reno before I moved to Washington, and the first thing that blew me away was being able to drive on a ferry to reach an island across the water. I actually did this as part of a group within a day or so of arriving in the area, and I still remember my shock at the whole experience. As somebody who absolutely hated the desert and the desert climate, I absolutely loved everything about western Washington, including the very grey and rainy climate.

In regards to those tulip pictures, wow. Even though I am absolutely a nature lover, I never would have imagined myself as enjoying going to a tulip festival, but those photos completely won me over. I don't think I realized just how many tulips there would be. They go as far as the eye can see. I am absolutely going to have to go to this next year after I return to and settle in western Washington.

Great pics! The Tulip Festival is one of my favorite annual events around here, especially because there are so many cool side trips to see nearby.

You could probably eat tulips, but you'd have to eat a lot of 'em to make a meal.
