Default Olalla area?

I am looking for a cheap place to live and I have seen inexpensive, older mobile homes for sale in the Olalla area. Is anyone familiar with these neighborhoods? Is this a quiet, safe area? Is it a reasonable commute to Bremerton or Tacoma? Thanks for any info.

Olalla is a decidedly rural residential area off State Route 16. The most that can be said about crime is that there's probably some meth issues, since it's forested, rural and not impossible to afford. But that's probably why you'd like it. Here's ZIP code-based data:

I'm not sure I'd call it a "neighborhood." As you can tell from the street map, it's residential, but not at all dense. There are "court" areas with many houes on one lane, though, so keep in mind that your neighbors' proximity will vary considerably. Mobile homes will probably not be on that type of lane, though.

I'd say the Bremerton commute (about 20 miles) is 30-40 minutes, and Tacoma (25 miles) is 40-55 minutes.

Alcon's assessment is pretty accurate in that there are few if any "neighborhoods" in Olalla. Seattlechica's time guess is closer. I'm about 4 minutes from the Olalla line, and it takes me maybe 20 min to get to Tacoma.
