I don't know about the relo package, but the city (Mukilteo) is nice. It's pricey, though. Do a search on this forum on Mukilteo and you'll find some posts.

Wink Boeing Relocation

I was just hired by Boeing in South Seattle and I wasn't offered a relocation package but renegotiated by asking for a higher salary or a sign-on bonus and they asked what I preferred and I said a higher salary and I got it. Ask your HR person lots of questions since they are there to help you come on bored. My HR person who's been helping me was angena and she has been a god sent. The relocation packages depend on the position and mostly the department I've been told, but remember everything is negotiable.

Christi

My Boeing relocation package was excellent. Boeing moved everything of mine up to 15,000 lbs. + 1 car. I had a 3bdrm house in D.C. and all of my things were well under 15,000 lbs. They paid for 2 plane tickets, a rent a car, hotel and meals for a week. We did have to find a place real fast. The Boeing hr rep was excellent and very helpful. To make a long story short we did find a beautiful Capitol Hill condo w/breathtaking views of dt and the sound a gentleman was renting out from Windermere real estate co.

I am looking for information on EXPIDITING a transfer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone know how to do this through Boeing.
I currently work for Boeing in Alaska and though Alaska is a beautiful place,, it is not any good for my family as they have SAD and it is a severe case.
So if anyone knows how to go about EXPIDITING a transfer through Boeing to get back down to the lower 48's that would be GREAT.
Thank you

The way I did it was through the Boeing job search. I worked at Boeing in Everett, WA and wanted to move to a warmer climate, so I had job listings e-mailed to me from all the states that I was considering (thru total access). Long story short, a few positions opened in San Antonio, TX that I was qualified for, so I applied, got the job, and transferred. I know that Everett is hiring like crazy right now, so if you don't mind the rain, you might find a job there that you are qualified for. Good luck.

Ok so here is the next question:
I have been using the Bess job search here at work, but I continue to get responses back such as : This job has been cancelled or the not being considered for this position anymore... I know that I am fit for what I am applying to on the employee system.. so what might I be doing wrong?
I am an Engineer for over 22 years now and have a current clearance ect...
So what could be going wrong that way?
Also how long did you work at the Everett before attempting the transfer/?
I have only worked for Boeing for one year now in Oct of this year. Until then I worked for other DOD companies...
Will this effect my being able to get a transfer?
Do I have to be here for a certain amount of time before they will allow it?
Lots of questions I know. I would appreciate all of the information you could offer though.
Are there key words that i should place on my resume for getting it considered better?
Should I only use the BESS employee job search or should I use both my home external job search as well..? These are two different accounts as I have my employee log in at work and then just the public access one at home.
Thanks again to anyone that can help.

I worked at Everett for nearly 10 years before the transfer, and I only used my Boeing access to post my resume. I was rejected quite a few times before one of them stuck. After my phone interview, I did get a little impatient and e-mailed the San Antonio HR department to tell them how interested I was in relocating to San Antonio. I have no idea if that helped or not. Sorry, but I do not have any answers for the rest of your questions.

I did get a lot of my questions answered thru my HR rep. You could ask your's or e-mail the HR department where you are applying. They may be able to answer your questions. You have to do some intranet investigating to find out who to contact on the other side.
