About AC... I came from the Dallas burbs... and didn't last a summer here without AC. In Dallas, yeah, it's really hot outside, but any time you want to escape it, you go IN. You don't have to deal with it for any longer than it takes your car to cool off, or go inside from a parking lot. Here, those hot weeks - you can't escape. Those are the weeks the mountains burn up, and the beaches too. You can get IN the water unless you're carting a toddler around, but you can't sleep there. Miserable.

And, yeah, seattle "ghetto" is nothing compared to the rest of the country. There are places I don't want to be at night (or even during the day, really), but seriously, they don't look nearly as bad as those in pick-basically-any-other-city-in-the-country-and-insert-here.

My husband and I recently (June) moved from Austin, Texas to Redmond, Washington. We are a young couple too, no kids yet.

So far, we LOVE Washington!!! This move is the best thing we have done yet. The weather is SO MUCH BETTER and the view is amazing. The people are friendly.

We have been having a little bit of trouble finding a job though.

There is a lot to do here, and many free events.
My husband and I would NEVER, EVER move back to Texas (or any other state, for that matter).

After only two months Washington has become our home.
