Nope. Although from what I've heard, Bremerton is 'cleaning up' a bit. I wouldn't live over there unless you can telecommute. What type of work do you do? I'd venture to say good jobs are scarce that far out. And if you like city amenities, you won't like it there.

Well I was fired and when I asked for an explanation they wouldn't give me one. I was on time, dressed sharp, worked hard, and I'm very confused and angry right now. This messes things up so bad. I wouldn't be mad if I deserved it or got an explanation but they didn't have one!!!

Don't give up!!!
You were looking for a job when you found that one. I'm sure the next will be better. I understand the job market there is good so get out there tomorrow and try again. I know it's a bummer when sh...t like this happens
but you have to rally and go forward. Good luck.!!

The worst part is it most definitely wasn't my fault, I became fast friends with someone there and confirms it was just a power-play because the person didn't like me. Not for any reason either, I was nothing but nice to her. I guess she just didn't like my vibe. This completely screws me over but as you said nothing to do but get up and try again...
That's the problem with large companies, they can throw you out and it doesn't hurt them. Smaller companies with less people rely on you more.

Well if it helps,
WHen I first moved up here I immediately got a job at Microsoft. Everyone was so impressed with me. The job was horrible. It was an awful fit and the manager was a complete a**.
It was the most miserable 6 weeks I've ever had in a job.
I left and have been so much happier at the job I have now.
As one door closes another will open.

Yes, I have had similar experiences in Seattle and elsewhere and you are so right! Good for you for taking care of yourself and having trust. Thanks you for the great reminder.

haha - NO. My daughter bought a house in Bremerton and commuted to Seattle. Everyone takes the ferry to Seattle for fun--there's very little to do in Bremerton. If you miss the ferry, you wait until the next one which could be hours or take the ferry to Bainbridge and an expensive cab to Bremerton (they did not take the car--too expensive.) Last summer she had enough and sold the house and moved back to the ABE area in PA where she grew up.

The job was in Bellevue. The company was Cartus, this particular office was exclusively for scheduling travel for interns Microsoft brings in (as well as scheduling travel for regular employees). The job wasn't the greatest, but a manager firing me for no reason makes it the worst. I'm sick with worry.

God says to leave the worrying to him. Just concentrate on a job hunt!
