I think he;s probably on the mark. A chunk of my insurance was for uninsured motorists.

My insurance rates dropped significantly when I moved, but AR requires proof of insurance to register vehicles, and even though I'm sure there are people here driving without insurance, the number is probably minimal compared to WA.

On edit: I think I'd look at SAFECO for the best deal...local company 'nat.

Sure, you want cheap rates. But you also want a reliable company that won't deny claims left and right.

I have Safeco and they do not jerk you around. Currently, I am paying $85 per month for a new car in Sumner.

Washington State has higher than average car insurance and it also depends on what city you live in.

Keep up your good driving records, and you will be rewarded.

Take the time to call around/surf around to find the best deals. Here're some web resources that might be helpful to you on getting cheap car insurance .

Cheers.

I have had Safeco for many years. I am older so my rates are cheaper, but when I moved from California my rate actually went down from AAA to Safeco. When I do the multiple rate searches, Safeco always comes up the cheapest. Also, I get a discount because I have my homeowners insurance with Safeco.
You are a young deiver which is a point against you and if you drive a very popular car or a muscle car that is another point against you. If you have a good driving record that is a point for you and if you come here and live close to work that is a point for you. You will probably get a discount if you take out another policy like homeowners or renters insurance. When you take all that into consideration, the only thing you can really change is your commute distance or the type of car you drive to get a lower rate.

We had HORRIBLE customer service from Ameriprise. I thought it would be good since we got it thru Costco but they were just terrible right from the get go.We've switched to Geico. Not cheaper, but not much more either. And WAY better customer service.
