After reading all these comments. TWC sounds like a tough place to work. Getting rid of this one and that one. Vivian Brown was on TWC since its came on the air. I didn't know she was no longer on the channel.
I didn't know she was gone. Wow...29 years.

Man, a lot of names I'd forgotten have been mentioned in this thread.
Like many others here, I liked TWC far more when it was just about weather. Tune in after 8 p.m. (ET) now and it's basically documentaries. It's nice when TWC gets back to its roots as it did during events such as the recent winter storm. It was on around-the-clock and just providing weather.
Count me as one person, however, who does not miss Vivian Brown in the least. She was likeable enough but her on-air delivery was awful, at least to me. Maybe it was her voice, but she always seemed to be hesitant and stumbling and it never changed in almost three decades.

Just heard today one of the Meterologist was killed, in a car accident yesterday. Very sad . I hope this thread wasnt bad luck. His name is Nicholas Wiltgen age 39. Senior Digital Meterologist. He had been with the Weather Channel for 15 years. Evidently he smashed into the wall of a parking garage at a high speed. Some type of Medical Emergency. The other person in his car is expected to survive.

Don "shiver me timbers" Buser was my fave. Sexy guy, sometimes maybe a little "tooted up" while on the air, but definitely back from the day when I was literally glued to The Weather Channel, right from the time I got home from work, because I'm a weather nut, and THAT was weather! I also liked Bill Schubert, Dale Dockus, Jeanetta Jones, Declan Cannon, Gay Dawson, and, of course, Vivian Brown, who really added class and dignity to weather forecasting.

Stephanie Abrahams should be sent back to some daycare center in the Bronx, where she belongs.

Wonder whatever became of Dennis Smith? He was my favorite on-air personality on The Weather Channel.

I actually met Dennis Smith at a University of Georgia women's basketball game back in the late 1990s. He was in the crowd, and I recognized him. We talked for a minute or two, then I want on my way. That was pretty awesome.
