225 sunshine hours (7.5 per day)...you gotta be rapt with that Richard, considering your otherwise mega-crap climate. Your temps are bleh, but a bit of sun does help reduce the pain in the nuts.

Last time we had more than that amount of sun in a month here was July 2006, four bloody years ago. Rare as hell in these parts. The crap temps were largely in the first half, with low pressure, cloud and drizzle. The final week had the most days into the low/mid-20s.

Best in 4 years. Not bad.

Our June is a crock of ****. Sydney's western suburbs have seen temps as low as -5C this months, and even towns in the subtropics, about Coffs Harbour northwards are getting overnight temps below 0C. Here in Melbourne it's been catastrophically cloudy, only a total 112 hours of sun this month Mildura, a desert town in NW Victoria aint doing much better, and their forecast calls for low temps of 0-1C and highs of 13C (both well below average)....but alteast some sunshine, unlike here.

Here's the summary for Christchurch. I've used data from three different sites that are, respectively, 15, 11 and 0 kms inland (I live nearest to the third one). It's interesting to note how much colder the winter becomes just a little bit inland. No rainfall or sunshine data is available unfortunately. All temps in Celsius.

That's like 50% more sun hours than our January average. (70-80 something?)
Any winter month with over 100 hours of sun feels pretty nice winter. (at least then I don't forget what bright sun looks like )

Max temp: 104 (Ugh)
Min temp: 61 (Not surprising, but that temp doesn't appear often after May)
Highest Low: 73
Lowest High: 85 (Today)
Highest Dewpoint: 79
Lowest Dewpoint: 50
Days with measurable rain: 12 (Afternoon thunderstorms, we really do not see a lot measurable out of it)
That is all I'm doing. Could've been worse, humidity down south wears you out if it lasts for more then a couple days at a time or Late July/August 2007 could be coming for the dance this year if we are going to follow the analog year of 07/08. That will be very very bad if it does.

Your highest low was about the same as Toronto's.
I'm surprised Augusta didn't have a low above 75 F.
Your highest dewpoint wasn't terribly different either.

Our dewpoint held at 68+ F for over a week.
Included in that was 70+ F for 5-7 days and 72 F for about 2-3 days.
