I'm literally looking at the calendar and counting down the days till September. Early September is still hot here generally, but it does start to improve right after Labor Day. We have had an especially hot summer this year with 25 or so days of triple digits. In contrast, I heard that last year we only had one triple digit day.
So especially this year, I'm looking forward to autumn! I think autumn is probably our nicest time of year here in the Dallas area. Especially mid to late October. Of course, I like colder, "fireplace" weather too, but that's another story!
This is my first year in Colorado and I keep hearing how beautiful fall is, so I'm looking forward to it! Hope to see some colors too. I'm amazed how rain will feel like a cool front. It was 84°F in Denver, then it rained and instantly went down to 68°F! After that it slowly went up to about 73 for the rest of the evening.
Reporting from Phoenix and I can't wait for the fall. I was sitting outside last night and the thermometer read 101 at 8:45 p.m. and my husband asked, "how much longer before our nights start cooling off?" I am counting the days.
autumn is my favorite season but we had no summer until now. very strange
