Mostly Cloudy

Surprisingly comfortable this morning to walk around in a t-shirt and have the windows open. I woke up sweating and it was only 64 F inside.

12C/54F, Expecting 24C/73F

Scattered high cloud, it is so green after a wet 3 weeks. The whole South Island is as green as I've seen it.

Partly due to abnormally low sunshine levels in many areas, no doubt. I'm picking that here we'll get our 2nd or 3rd lowest in 106 years of records around the city.

We are only at about 140 hours for the month so far. What a difference a month makes.

The green is nice. even Central Otago was "greenish", which made a nice contrast with the heavy, new snowfall down to about 800m

That's a poor total for you, but you won't be breaking any records - the 1992 total was only 143. Locally we may come in at 2nd or 3rd lowest in over a century of readings around the city, with only 97 hours in 23 days, the record low being 114 (record high 260, average of last 30 years 193).
