What's your forecast for Xmas eve, Xmas day and boxing day? Xmas eve is tommorow for me but I suspect it is still two days away for most of you.

Our short-lived heat wave seems to have come to an abrupt halt with a fresh blast from the Antarctic causing the temps to plummet over the next couple of days. It should be mostly sunny with maybe some light showers on Xmas eve. Xmas is mainly an outdoor affair here, so weather is important.

Xmas eve: 8 / 21 C (46 / 70 F)
Xmas day: 13 / 21 C (55 / 70 F)
Boxing day: 15 / 25 C (59 / 77 F)

We're supposed to have near normal temps, no measurable snow or storms heading our way. Of course Christmas is Sat. being Wed. forecast could change! The temp for next 3 days is to be 29°F with a low of 18°F, normal for this time of year.

I do think the horrible weather on the west coast will miss us thanks to a high pressure coming in from Canada! It will keep the low well south of us and probably mean cold air but no snow.

A mixture of sun and cloud with a few flurries of snow for the 24th and 25th. On Christmas night/Boxing Day, the winds will change to Southwest winds bringing an increase in temps and rain but more likely to be snow. Possibly a big thaw too as the temps continue to rise.

Xmas eve: -12 / -4 C (10 / 25 F)
Xmas day: -10 / -3 C (14 / 27 F)
Boxing day: -4 / 4 C (25 / 39 F)

Xmas eve: -2C/-5C (28F/23F)
Xmas day: -5/-8C (23F/18F)
Boxing day: -6C/-7C (21F/19F)

That's from Environment Canada (the government weather office) but the Weather Network TV channel has somewhat colder predictions of -3C/-6C (27F/21 F), -4C/-11C (25F/12 F) and -6C/-10C (21F/14F).

That cold's really impressive for Ireland -- looks like a Canadian forecast. Are you at a higher altitude city?

Christmas Eve: Mostly Sunny High 32 Low 16
Christmas Day: Mostly Cloudy High 32 Low 16
Boxing Day: Cloudy with a 30% chance of snow. High 27 Low 16

Looks like there is a potential storm coming. Hopefully it won't track too far to the east. Its been consistently cold and we have nothing to show for it!

BTW, is Christmas generally an outdoors affair in the southern hemisphere?

Christmas Eve high of 68-70, low around 35
Christmas Day high of 52-49 low around 32

This is much better than the record high of 84 we had yesterday

A matter of perspective. A Ch'ch poster on a NZ forum thinks it's been "the sunniest and hottest December I can recall so far...". I haven't bothered checking any numbers, but I suspect he's well out on the first count and somewhat out on the second, but it provides a counterbalance to your assessments.
