Grrr! The forecast is tending to the cooler side now. New year's eve is tommorow here and the forecast is 12 / 21 C (54 / 70 F) while new year's day is 13 / 19 C (55 / 66 F). This is on the cooler side of average for mid-summer here.
pretty foul, definately not festive season weather. Get some scotch, that make it feel like summer
poor frostbitten buggers in Melbourne, missing out as usual, will have a cold front roll in sat night and by NYD won't even get to 30C and after that in the low 20's for them . YUCK
Friday: Partly Cloudy with a high of 41 F
Saturday: Mostly Cloudy with a chance of showers. High 45 F

Lol a warmer winter day in Jackson, MS than a summer day for Christchurch.

Our mid-summer weather is average mid-winter weather for Brisbane. And on those rare occasions when we do get into the 30s (usually only four or five days per year, although we've had three such days this month) it's usually so cloudy, windy and of such low humidity that it feels more like 25 C.
Is there anywhere in the Australian mainland that isn't seeing temps in the 30s (or humid temps in the upper 20s with lows in the high teens / low 20s)?
Melbourne missing out? They have a high of 39 C forecasted for tomorrow and 30 C for new year's day (with a low of 18): Weather.com.au - Melbourne Weather

Melbourne and the southern coast of Victoria 22C in Melbourne atm, despite a forecast of 25C, and as cold as 18C down the south western coast of Vic. Every other capital is in the 30's, except for the extreme coastal fringe of Sydney.

Actually only one day of 38C tomorrow, then back down to 27C on Sat, making it the coldest city on NYD in Australia. Still nice though, but after previous forecasts of 36-38C for both days, it's just another kick in the marbles this continually cold month (and year)... and it drops back to the low 20's with nights around 10-12C by Sunday
btw, to get forecasts, go to the BOM website, stay away from garbage such as weather.com.au, (in)accuweather, wunderground etc.
31/12 - High 7C, Low 3C, grey cloud
1/1 - High 4C, Low -1C, grey cloud
Tomorrow's the last of the three completely overcast, misty days to enjoy for actually not being below average for the first time in about five weeks then it gets colder and sunnier again for next week. I associate this time of year with cycling to New Year parties as a teenager in 50mph winds/snow/coldest night of the year/hailstorms/fog etc so a bit of grey cloud will do me OK.
Currently a cloudy 20 C here and it's not likely to get any better for the next two weeks. High of 18 C for new year's day.
Sounds like my ideal spring or summer day. No blazing sunshine and almost perfect for outdoor activity.
