Hey, there was one time where I thought 20°C was pretty cold and needed a jacket that was when I used to live in Puerto Rico and never lived or visited anywhere else.

.
Assuming no obstacles to record sunlight, Cairns averages about 61-62% of possible annually, varying from 48% in February to 72% in September.

I've been to Cairns in June and tho I didn't find it hot, it was mild and relatively warm. I could swim in the hotel pool during the day without being uncomfortable, however the beach was far too windy. .

I was also in sydney at this time of year and found it to be delightful. The days were sunny....and cool, I could go out with jeans and a sweater on and thats all I needed. The nights were cold, but the days were so sunny, it warmed up beautifully. Love me some sydney winters.

Same here. Now that I've lived in Pennsylvania for a while, I start to wear a jacket around 50°F. I only wear a light pullover up to 60°F. Which island did you come from?
