Wow, it is spectacular out there today! For all my complaining when its cold and rainy, i figure i should write a happy and thankful blog when its nice out. It is clearly a Day From God out there today in the East. I went outside on my lunch break at work, and i was very tempted not to come back
Our awesome week of weather with 70F highs and unbroken sunshine for days on end came to an abrupt end this afternoon, though the rain we got wasn't much. As much as I've loved the past few days (and few weeks for that matter) I'm a bit suspicious of so much good weather so early as it always balances itself out at some point. Heh, I just looked it up and we've already had more sunshine this April than in the whole of April 2003, the odd month out in one of the sunniest years on record.
Autumn has definitely arrived here in Sydney - lately there has been a few clear, crisp mornings with a nip in the air. But I am enjoying it - sunny days and coolish nights .
Autumn is quite an enjoyable time here (although March was not to my liking as many overcast days) - the day-to-day maximums seem to be more stable, usually in the low to mid 20s (around 70-75F).

Anyway, happy spring to everyone!
Ahh, just as I told you. I had to pick up someone at Newark International today, the temp was 80 F ! It felt like summer a little.
A front will cool things back to more seasonal upper 50's and lower 60's on Tue/Wed with on/off showers. Thur and Fri look nice again with sunshine and temps in the 65 - 70 F range. Much of the middle East Coast will stay in this back and forth spring pattern till around the 18th or so, before the jet really retreats up into southern Canada in a more meaningful way.
So have patience the cold season is slowy fading away

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case out in the Pacific Northwest (or Pacific Southwest for those from B.C.). We have a fairly deep and cold upper level low parked over coastal British Columbia just north of Vancouver Island that's progged to bring in more cool and damp weather starting mid-late Tuesday. Today started out with sprinkles but the sun came out around noon and we've been fine but cool since.
This has persisted since the end of February and shows no sign of going away. We can look forward to persistant cloudiness with light to moderate rain and slightly cooler than average temperatures from Wednesday clear to the end of next week.
