I rate your Dream Climate an A-. The only reason why I didn't give an A or A+ is because of the 2 mos of mild fall weather. I am a sun worshipper and warm/hot weather person. So I love the 10 mos of summer! If I had my dream climate, it would be like yours, except I would have 12 mos of summer!

I don't need the seasons to change. Actually, I get quite depressed from seasonal changes from summer to fall, then fall to winter. I have SAD, and I have to look into a sun lamp from October thru April. It doesn't help that I live in a place that has on average 208 cloudy days, and 103 partly cloudy days per year. I will be moving to a warm/hot sunny place this fall.

Thanks for giving me an A-!

I tried to put an actual poll for this thread, but the city-data settings didn't go through for it. However, I tallied all the grades I got on this thread. So far I got an A+, two A-'s, a B+, three B's, two C's, a D, and two F's so 7 good grades vs. 5 bad grades.

I always have difficulty adjusting from fall to winter and from winter to spring and if the winter lasts for more than 2 months. However I like the summer to fall transition. I like mild fall weather as much as warm/hot temperatures which is why my dream climate has warm/hot summer weather and some mild fall weather.

I actually like some snowstorms but I don't like the cold temperatures that come with it and how the snow melts over time. It also makes the ocean cold and kills tropical plants and things like that. Because of those reasons, I rather not have that in my dream climate at all. I would just visit a place nearby that gets snow. In my dream climate, there is a place with mountains nearby about a few hours away that gets lots of snow but my dream climate itself has no snow and no winter. I just prefer snow to be in mountains instead and have a novelty trip to a place like that.

In general, my dream climate gets 3,200 sunshine hours for the year which is very sunny. There are 8 extremely sunny months, 2 kind of sunny months, but also 2 extremely cloudy months. There is also 85 inches of precipitation per year.

I'll give it a C - lows aren't nearly low enough, highs in the winter (if you can call it that) are too high, too many sunny days. It basically sounds like a one season, boring, predictable climate, similar to where I now live (Florida), though your summer months are mild compared to Florida.

I guess if you like the same 'ol same 'ol day in and day out, you could do worse. I find it horribly depressing, but to each their own.

I believe there is enough seasonal variety in my dream climate and it isn't "just one season." There are differences in temperatures, precipitation, and sunshine hours between different months.

If you want to freeze your ass off in your dream climate for half of the year and have extremely unstable seasonal variety, go ahead.

I don't like freezing cold (preferably, temps wouldn't get below 10-15F unless there's a cold snap) but I like it cold enough to get snow. Also, my definition of comfortable is different from yours; 65-75F in the summer is perfectly comfortable for me. I can handle up to around 80-85F if there's a lot of wind and it's cloudy out.
This climate would be perfect for me. Real winters, comfortable summers, and nice cool falls.

As for the OP's, it gets an F. The tolerable months aren't enough to make up for such hot and sunny weather.

My dream climate would be one of those tropical/subtropical places that don't have to deal with hurricanes. I don't like hurricanes.
Hurricanes/tropical cyclones don't really form within 5 degrees latitude of the equator as far as I've heard because the Coriolis effect is too weak there, being zero at the equator.

But hurricanes, to form, need very warm water (I think around 80F), and a reasonable Coriolis effect so they form the tropical/subtropical zones flanking the equator.

And I gave your climate an F too. So far, my dream climate got more positive votes than your dream climate and more people would prefer my dream climate over yours.

I agree. There are subtropical/tropical places in the world(including some coastal locations) that don't really have to deal with hurricane risks. You make a great point.

I don't care. I didn't even know it was a competition.

Meh. I thought more people would like mine. People here seem to want to "interesting" temperatures. Mine was slightly on the warm side, but not warm enough for the heat lovers, but not enough seasons for people who want variation.
