I give Miami a B. I've only vacationed there, but I've looked at the stats and know people who live there. It can be described with relatively high sunshine hours, but way more on the "partly cloudy" side than "sunny"
PROS:
High sunshine hours year-round (roughly 70%)
Warm temps year-round
Near the ocean
Moderately low cloudy days
CONS:
High humidity (Can be very uncomfortable, esp. during summer)
Target of many hurricanes
A lot of rain (about 62 in. annually)
Only 74 clear, sunny days annually

I find its precipitation to be one of its pros instead. I really like how Miami has high sunshine for the year(Around 3,000 annual sunshine hours) while getting a high amount of precipitation. That is the type of combination that is in my dream weather/climate. I just wish more of the rain just fell like rain without any of the lightning over there
Well even with warm/hot temperatures and high humidity, it seems better to me then freezing cold temperatures.
Your point was incorrect. Just look at the averages of select northeast cities and you'll see that they're not "way hotter with comparable humidity". Yes, there are heatwaves and it does get humid, but there's also cooler and or dryer weather during the summer. Miami doesn't catch a break for over six months. Combine that with the high dewpoints and strong Florida sun.
I rate the climate of Miami by giving it a big fat F. This subtropical, humid climate which lasts for much of the year with ZERO variation in the weather is a big turn off for me and always has been. Miami's weather is garbage, easily the worst weather in the whole United States. I don't understand why anyone would like this kind of garbage weather. It is simply too hot and humid for most of the year for any human to be comfortable. I'd rather deal with Phoenix AZ or Las Vegas dry heat if I was going to live somewhere warm. Miami's weather is way overrated just like its NBA basketball team

Clearly there are plenty of humans who disagree.
