To be honest, many times I do too.
High temps between 70 F and even 90 F are fine by me...low 80's are perfect. Many times I see the forecast highs this time of year in the PNW and think what it must be like to have a late spring picnic or Memorial Day picnic when it's cool, cloudy, and in the 50's to low 60's.
Outside of the PNW area - much of the USA will have nice temps for the holiday weekend:

Even early this week shows little change to the cool/damp weather up in the PNW:

I know little, but I know I would never survive the weather for long in the PNW

I would much rather deal with Seattle's cool and cloudy weather rather than the hot and humid weather here back east. I'll take 60 F over 90 F anyday. Perfect for outdoor activities.
I'll be spending the afternoon in a nice air conditioned movie theater.

That's when I would prefer to have a picnic! It's too hot here in summer (or most of spring or fall, for that matter) to have an enjoyable picnic. From now until mid October or so, I'll be uncomfortable any time I go outside. Unless I'm in Washington before then! (fingers crossed) \
Edit: Looking at that map, the only areas I see that are what I'd consider comfortable are in yellow, and even some of those are a little warmer than I'd prefer. Everything else just looks miserable.

While I find that rather strange…it only goes to prove that there is a climate out there for everyone. If you seek cloudy, cool (50’s often), weather, then perhaps the PNW might be the ticket for you.
Most people I know enjoy being outside when the temps are in the 70’s and 80’s and it’s sunny and bright. I for one would be so sad to be looking outside on May 31st and see cloudy skies and temps in the 50’s. I live for "island time" weather. I feel like I'm in the Caribbean!

Lol. I live in both NYC and the Pacific Northwest right now and I also feel sorry sometimes for people having to deal with some of the weather they have to deal with in the PCNW.
60s and 50s can be nice temperature but more in months like October to December and from February to April.
For Late May to Early June definitely not!
June 1 and June 2 show forecast highs in Seattle only around 55 degrees with lows around 50 degrees with rain and clouds. Yesterday, they had a high of 55 with a low of 46 with a windchill in the low 40s when it had that low...
Also the higher elevations of Washington state and other Pacific Northwestern states are still getting snow!
Some springs and falls can be very nice in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. Spring 2009 over there was very nice and Fall 2010 last year was nice in October. I was even kind of jealous of their 2009 weather.
However, last spring was pretty horrible there. It was cloudy 25 out of 30 days each month for May, June, and even September which is almost always a sunny month there. Their spring this year was also pretty nasty.
Despite the weather there sometimes, the Pacific Northwest is still a great place. But damn, the weather can be so nasty there sometimes.
I even like cloudy rainy weather sometimes but the PCNW can take it too far!
But I am grateful to live in New York City and Seattle/Pacific Northwest at the same time.

I think I've grown to hate bright, sunny days because I associate them with intense heat and extreme discomfort. Here if it's sunny, I'm probably going to be at least a little uncomfortable, unless it's pretty cool (40s or less). And in summer here, it's almost never cloudy and there's hardly ever any breeze. So it's like being in a pot of boiling water with the lid on. If I had grown up in a place that's cloudy much of the time, and when it is sunny it's actually pleasant, then I'd probably like sunshine more. But as it is, for me sunshine = misery.

Why can't there be even more types that love sunshine but also clouds/rain at the same time like me!
Sometimes it seems like someone like only sunshine and no clouds/rain and then others that like clouds/rain and no sunshine.
It makes no sense why you do not like sunshine. I understand if you like cloudy/rainy weather but really, no sunshine?

I don't like sunshine because it's hot, which I hate. Also, I have sensitive eyes and the sun is blinding, which is also very uncomfortable. Whenever I'm outside I find myself constantly trying to shield myself from the hot sun.
