I run a personal weather station in Wilmington, NC -
right now:
2:42pm

96.7F with 56% humidity
Heat Index: 114.5F
Dew Point: 78.4F
Barometric Pressure: 29.84 in.
Barometric Trend: -0.019
Today's High: 97.1F at 2:00pm
Today's Low: 82.9F at 5:30am

When I came in a few hours ago, the heat index was 121 degrees! Our station sits in the sun, though, rather than the shade.

At least you don't live in Lumberton. According to the National Weather Service, it was 106 today. Not a heat index. Fayetteville was 105.

The heat is just terrible. Last weekend, we broke a record of 97 degrees. It actually doesn't get as hot here as you would think, it's usually in the high 80s at this time of the year and the records are around 94. The air has been unusually steady and dry in Fort Lauderdale, and we had a polluted day yesterday and today, a rarity in South Florida.

Charlotte tied its all-time record high two days in a row. Both yesterday and today, the high was 104 degrees. The "coolest" it's been this week was 97 degrees on Sunday, I think. It's kinda weird because before this week, it hadn't cracked 100 degrees in about 2 years here, and suddenly we had 3 days straight of 100+ weather.
