I'm not sure what country you are specifically referring to. Snow and conifers are found pretty much everywhere in Europe.

I think the German Christians were the first to make up such festivities.
Else a starry night, dropping down to 35-45 F (2-7 C) is what would be fitting Christmas weather.

Yep, I've seen those pictures before. I love seeing palms covered in snow.
True, I know palms can grow in cooler oceanic climates where seeing snow that sticks a few times a winter is common, but I was generally referring to places where either 20-25 inches of snow in a season is considered a record low snowfall or temps are so cold that any snow that falls will probably stay there the whole season.
