I learned, many years ago on vacation at the age of 14, that LaJolla California has the best weather. As other posters have mentioned, southern Cali is expensive.... but it sure is beautiful (at least from what I remember!!!)

pretty much every along the coast of northwestern Aus averages over 34C in summer.
The hottest months in the Sonoran are hotter than in the Pilbara.
Plus remember, only 5-10% of the Sonoran desert is located in the U.S.A.
as it extends well over 1000 km southwards into mainland Mexico.

Yes, but only the northwest; not near Darwin or the entire Pacific Coast of QLD. (not sure about the Gulf of Carpentia)
Probably less than 1/4 of all the world's coastal tropical locations get any months with averages over 34 C.

If you want that southern California climate without the crime, pollution etc. You might look at Santa Maria or San Luis Obispo, California. SLO is actually a little bit warmer than Santa Barbara, smaller, and cheaper. Santa Maria is just a little Cooler, but significantly cheaper. Lompoc is also a good candidate.

I have always loved Floridas weather. I know, I really know..........it gets hot, hot.......
But, I so love the heat more then cold. I love to spend the hottest days in the ocean swimming.
In the pool dipping........
The sun is always there, all the time.........I love that.
I like seeing greenery all year long.....
The state is yummy to me........full of sun and fun. I've liked it since I was ten years old.......

I know exactly what you're saying. Their summers maybe get a bit too toasty, but it's worth living through just to avoid the horrible cold of winter that many northern states have.

I liked your description of winter in another thread. I feel the exact same way about it.

Really, the perfect weather is Honolulu. Warmest year-round, balmy nights, little rain, mild breezes. SoCal still gets too cold in winter, especially at night. If you love the warm nights without the searing hot days, and no bugs, all year long, Honolulu is THE place.

You've very likely correct. The problem is that a lot of us can't afford to live in Hawaii. It's way beyond my means anyway.

The perfect climate is one that promotes northwoods tree growth and distinct seasons.

The Pilbara has a few spots that average over 40C in January - I imagine it's about on par with the Sonora.

Death Valley though is hotter than anywhere in Australia and on par as the hottest place on earth.

^^ Marble Bar had an average of 44.9C in February 2007. This year in January, the town of Gascoyne Junction would've average over 45C if it hadn't been for cyclone Dominic bringing rain and cloud towards the end of the month
