The Perfect Climate
This is the most simple and probably most posted question - in some form or another? Can you help:
In search of the perfect climate....that holy grail of weather - Does it exist in the US??!
Perfect climate: comfortable year round - no extremes - not too hot or humid in summer, not too cold in winter (spring and fall are easy - they are nice in most places.) AND lots of sun.
and here's the catch - not too expensive!!
Southern California seems like the best climate - except it's too expensive; South is too hot in summer, and too humid; Pacific northwest seems too grey and rainy; East coast, well...; the West/Southwest seems too hot in summer in most places but there could be some possibilities?
Where should we look?? We welcome ALL ideas - even the most farfetched!!!

Well I think coastal SC and southward is close to perfect. I have never been too hot there, but I like summer weather in the 80's and 90's and I don't mind humidity. I'd rather be a little sticky than have to wear a coat to stay warm.
Oops, edit button gone. Coastal SC southward is close to perfect to me, but I'm probably weird.
I hope you find a place that's perfect for you to live.

If you want someplace with no extremes in climate, then it has to be near the ocean. The further inland you go, the more extremes in weather, either hot or cold. Lots of places in the southwest have mild winters, but the summers are brutal and long.
Southern California fits your bill weatherwise, but you've got to put up with criminal real estate values, pollution, crime, and major earthquakes. Florida might fit you (although it suffers extreme heat in my opinion), but you've also got outrageous real estate, high crime, and it's in the middle of hurricane alley.
The Pacific Northwest never gets very cold west of the Cascades. Summers are generally mild. October through June it can be pretty dreary, but summers are actually quite dry and sunny. But again, you've got high real estate, growing crime, urban sprawl, pollution, earthquakes, and lots of volcanoes in the area.
You might try Costa Rica.

The most perfect climate in Southern California is around Santa Barbara. Even when it's 100 degrees in LA, Santa Barbara will be about 79. Malibu and Santa Monica are pretty cool too.
I guess that's why the homes cost millions around there.

I've got to agree with Isabella on this one. Hawaii fits that bill.
