When I can retire and NOT have to get out into the frigid cold/wind, shovel snow, scrape ice/snow off my car, drive on ice-covered roads, walk on ice-covered ground (and repeat the process when I get off work)....then I will sit in my warm house, drink a nice cup of hot chocolate and watch the beautiful Cardinals come to feed!

To all who submitted photos....love them....great pix - - thanks!!!

Wow I love seeing all these winter pictures! I grew up in Wi and miss the snow terribly. I'm now in VA and we're lucky if we get any snow like the pictures shown. We've been lucky a few times though.

lol, that's great.

And it definitely wouldn't stop snowing. We lost power for almost 5 days from that storm... Had to dig out our car 4 times, I think. It was ridiculous.

But I loved it nonetheless.

Hey John - thanks for this thread - it was great. Loved everyone's pictures!!! As someone who has never lived anywhere were it can snow UNTIL this coming November, it looks beautiful. However, I understand the "work" that goes behind it all.

Thanks again John.

Yes Dan, I live East of Lake Ontario near the Canadian border too. Our county is smack in the middle of those Lake Effect storms. It's not unusual for us to get pelted with a foot or more every night for days on end. It can drift to the point of having to climb out a second story window. A bit closer to the border it's colder and they get less.

Here is a picture I took myself this past winter standing in the road in front of the house. You can see the chimney if you look carefully.
