Thanks, a very interesting article. The clipper sounds seriously cold. The Nor'easter has a big impact on your weather as well.

Interesting about Ben Franklin as well, still plenty of smaller weather mysteries to explain.

I think the winter will be cold, at least colder than summer.

After an active tropical season like we've had this year, MD usually has a cold winter. Snowfall is dependent on storm systems coming up from the Gulf and contacting already in place cold air. Except for far Western MD the storms coming out of the west brought out of Canada don't impact MD with much snow, although we do get the cold air.

We don't get much winter in Houston, but I'm hoping for as cold as we can get for as long as we can get it.

Well, I hope our first major snow is after Dec. 1st, no 15-20" of snow at once, just the usual 6-10 is fine for a storm! I would like just a normal winter, no big blizzards, or record cold snaps (probably too much to ask)!

We just last week broke record for low temperture this early.I am no expert but it might be a sign of things to come. Last three years we also got snow in december which seldom happens more than one day in ten years.
