Arapahoe Basin in Colorado opened to skiers and riders Thursday, just 100 days after it closed to end the last ski season. Almost a foot of natural snow fell and the rest man made.

Arapahoe Basin is the second ski area to open in Colorado for the new season. Wolf Creek in the southwestern part of the state opened last weekend.

Loveland, which is on the opposite side of the pass from A-Basin, opens Friday.

“Nice photo by Dave Camara this morning. The snowcats were all over the hill today. Looking good. Getting pretty close to decision time”
