It's wonderful when ppl pitch in & help each other out,
plus having a few good stiff drinks is a must afterwards
Then of course a snowball fight or sledding- good stuff.......
Btw, I love a good pub

Denver, CO my friend. This is the one place I've ever known where you have to carry your winter jacket, an umbrella, sunglasses and sunscreen all in one day. Except I don't personally wear sunscreen but you get the point.

They never close here due to strange aryan work ethics, doesn't prevent students from not attending school in case of severe weather (tiny bit of snow) though.

I know there are rules here then schools should be closed because of low winter temperatures ( a ministry´s decree says that -20c in case of smaller students and -25c for older pupils ) but we have never had so deep snow that prevents the schools to work. The regular winter weather is rather dry here and not that much snow here I think.

About 3cm of snow are enough to stop the whole country.

It will close if there is any accumulating snow. However, if only 0.5 inches fall overnight, they will probably just delay school as the snow will almost certainly melt later in the day.

Yes, indeed it is one of the coldest in winter. I have got some data at weatheronline.co.uk and it says that there are approx 120-125 days with snow per year in south-east Estonia. However, it is not the longest period in Estonia as north-east Estonia has more days with snow. Interestingly, occured that north-east Estonia has somewhat higher warmest month´s temperature as well. Thus seems that north-east despite it´s geographical vicinity to the sea it has in fact kinda stronger continentality.
