Default Rate the climate: Natal, Brazil

Natal, Rio Grande do Norte - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Very nice climate IMO.

Sunshine hours is 3000 per year.
Precipitation is 1500mm per year.

Keep in mind UV index is extreme all year round.

Wow. If there are indeed 3000 hours of sun,

and if the time zone could be pushed 2 hours forward, so as to obtain post-7 PM sunsets year round,

then I think this would be

my absolute favorite climate in the world

With temps feelings alternatively like Singapore and like Nice in summer, a noticeably wet season, a noticeably dry season, and moderate rainfall in between (and I suspect some thunderstorms), high record lows, quite high record highs, and supposedly high sunshine, it's totally perfect. And the vegetation looks fantastic.

Just looking at the pics makes me want to fly there at once and escape Nice's gloomy autumn.

Needless to say, A+++ from me.

Thanks !

D-, seems similar to Darwin.
Tropical wet and dry is not quite as bad as the constant rainy and humid equatorial climates, that also have minimums in the mid 20's C every night of the year.

A-. A little cooler and drier would be great. Looking at OGIMET's pages, the averages are not given for all months of the year, but the total for the last 12 months was 2778 - so perhaps the 3000 is a tad optimistic. Recife has a similar seasonal pattern for sunshine and rainfall and averages 2550 or so.

Edit: the climate data for Recife in Wikipedia contains a characteristic blunder - the August sunshine figure is nonsensical. I get the feeling that some Wiki contributors mindlessly copy numbers without having any notion of whether they look sensible.

Awful. Hot, sunny, and little relief from the heat.

Browsing the pictures, it looks like a really interesting and pretty place. It's a shame I'd never be comfortable there. F
