I live in Minneapolis so my area is most impacted by tornados, what disasters are a problem in your area?

Definitely floods. Area is also susceptible to hurricanes and the infrequent spring time tornado

We don't get many if any natural disasters in Leeds, the last serious weather disaster being the catastrophic floods of summer 2007.

But in the UK as a whole it has to be floods. The most recent severe flood probably being in Bournemouth.

Buffalo NY area:
Snow,snow and snow.
Come spring, thaw and ice jams and possible flooding

I will take it any day over earthquakes, forest fires, hurricanes, tsunamis and the likes.

Snow melts. Damage is minimal.

Floods and severe storms are the most likely disaster, the most recent being 2007:
June 2007 Hunter Region and Central Coast storms - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I took several photos of the iconic Pasha Bulker.
Other than that there was a severe widespread heatwave in February 2004.
There was also an earthquake back in 1989, a quite significant and rare event in Oz.

For us historically it's the 1952 smog event, which killed far more people in one week than any week of the Blitz: BBC NEWS | UK | England | The Great Smog of London

It can't happen again though because we no longer have heavy industry and coal fires, so the biggest danger would be flash floods, though I can't think of a recent one in London serious enough to call a natural diaster. The area is naturally susceptible to tidal flooding, but since the 80s there's been a barrier on the river to stop it happening.

Also, the 2003 heatwave killed a lot of people with respiratory problems, though it was nothing like as bad as in France. Compared to a lot of places on Earth we're quite lucky with our tame climate far from any fault lines.
