It means spring backward. Hmmm.. Your time will be GMT -1 on summer.
Also, if the backwards DST applied to Russia year round instead of the spring forward, it means most of the country are in the right time zone. (currently, average solar noon in Russia = 2pm (with year-round DST))

Instead of light from 4 am to 10 pm you'd prefer 2 am to 8 pm?

Yeah since I'm used to rise early.
For Muslims who are fasting, (dawn-sunset), 10pm sunset is less practical, it means must eat / break the fast around that time.

I mean GMT-1 in the summer. So your midsummer times will be about 2.49am - 8.12pm

I've heard Ramadan is going to be in our midsummer for the next few years. I have no idea how anybody can manage to fast for that long every day for a month, particularly in a country like ours where life for most people just goes on as normal (We have a few Muslims where I live, but I don't personally know any). If you were fasting somewhere with 17-18 hour days would you get up extra early to have breakfast before sunrise / do you have to do prayers at sunrise?

But it won't be dark at 9pm. It takes ages..

It would be broad daylight.

Hmmm. My night schedule maybe will be like this :

8pm dusk prayer + break the fast
9.30pm night prayer...
Sleep for about 2 hours
12am light meal (desserts)+ morning/dawn prayer, and sleep again
7.00am which means current 9am, wake up

The pre-midinght sleep just after night prayer maybe functions as a "late nap"

Or I will sleep right after the morning prayer, (about 12.30am or so) because the night is so short. If the current DST system is used, I can't go to bed till about 2.30am, and must wake up as late as 7am.
