^^ Still a quite late sunset time for Indonesian standards.
The sunrise time is also very late though.

The early sunset is ridiculous. I'll have to get up at Sunrise to make the most of the skewed daylight hours.
Hmm. common in java. 5:30 sunrise/set in average. Just fine for me. even 5am/5pm would be nice. I like the early sunrises.

I'd rather have NE India times. Sunrises and sunsets must be earlier i thought.

Do people get up earlier there? 5 am sounds rather inconvenient. Maybe if you have the same early sunrise / sunset year-round people just wake up around sunrise. Anyway for me:

6:49 am sunrise, 6:28 pm sunset

Feel like we should have our clocks half-hour later.

Yes. Majority of java wake up at 4-5am, since there mainly Muslims so they do the dawn prayer first, before work. Early risers there.

Also in Java schools can start at 6:30, even I've heard of 6:15am!!! So 6am sky must be lit enough, 10 degrees of sun altitude. Most people already on the way home before 5pm, so sunset before 6pm isn't a big deal compared to post-6am sunrises.

Yes, you're on a completely different schedule than us. Many here start work at 9 am.

Default Time of Sunset

Not really sure to put this, but anyway...

Around when does the sun rise and set for you at this time of year? And what time do you generally consider "evening" to be?

I am from San Jose, California. Sunset is around 6:45 P.M. over here, and I consider evening to be 6:00 to 9:00.
