How can two locations at different latitudes be diverging as they're approaching the equinox? At the solstice, the difference between latitudes are greatest, and as they're approaching the equinox they converge until they're equal. Then they diverge again towards the solstice.
The increase in daylength is not the same.. In that post there is a 21 minute difference between sunsets, today; there is a 26 minutes difference.
Of course, that is not representative as the two locations have a mean solar time difference of 40 minutes. So essentially they will never be equal.
I think at the solstice most locations are supposed to have 6pm sunsets? Uni: 6:10pm, Home:6:49pm)
Did you mean equinox?
Solar time wise, yes.
But places like (most of) the US has DST at both equinoxes so regions around timezone meridians would have 7am/7pm instead of 6am/6pm
