A bit surprised at how long the snow is lasting. In previous marches the snow was long gone by the end of the day.

Cloudy, occasional sunny intervals.

2.2C / 35.9F.

Snow cover - I'd hazard a guess at around 35 - 50% in this area, though these large drifts are not thawing at all as they have totally compacted.

Dayum. Snow cover is still 100% here and I measured it at 7 inches earlier (lying snow, not drifts). It didn't even seem that deep but my 6" long measuring equipment was totally buried inside the snow when it reached the ground. Terrible! It may still be like this in April. Time's running out.

Well id rather have wintery weather in spring and then skip to summer. I hate that halfway 13c crap.

Im trying to get my dad to go up one of the higher mountains (450m). But he wont go. I cannot see much melt up there at all.

If it wasn't so windy during last weekend's snow event we'd probably have closer to 100% snow cover, but it drifted too much and many areas were left exposed with hardly any cover. I'm surprised the snow has lasted as long as it has though considering we're at a low elevation (relatively speaking).

Yes that happened here below 200m. Thats why I hate drifting. People on here praise it and Im thinking NO because the cover will be uneven and not last.

If it was in January, it'd be absolutely fine, I managed to keep 100% snow cover back in Jan even with one day reaching 4C under sunshine, but in March, for snow to last, it needs to be overcast. Either way, this snow event here was only made memorable due to 2 factors - it's late March, and drifting. I have never seen drifting like this in Leeds.

Cloudy skies and 53F. The high today should get up to 68F after the clouds burn off.
