Don't worry, looks like the Saturday frontal system could drop a good bunch of snow on England.

But, I bet the front ends up stalling west of us and drops its load into the Irish Sea. Haha.

Hopefully it is, and hopefully Spring will be very late in the Eastern U.S. this year . I've always said that Maine often gets the best of everything, at least east of Chicago, in terms of the snowstorms. So many paltry systems for the rest of the coast go on to produce decent snows for Maine, especially Northern Maine.

I would love a repeat of April 2007. Cold and somewhat cloudy with flurries during the first two weeks or so.

Default Model Mayhem

You guys wanna see how insane this is. First understand other years..........no wait, other seasons, had more consistancy and agreement (not exact) but this year is absolutely disgusting how they can show 2 entirely different senarios.

For example, for February 12th. GFS on left showing surface temps to be Low 20s in Southern Ohio. Euro show Near 50 degrees! ?? Drastic difference.

GFS showing huge Storm on coast, Euro nothing at all. Blue Skies.

You can depict the trough GFS is showing and Ridge Euro is showing.

Are models usually reliable in the US 10 days ahead? I think it's quite common to have opposed modelisations at 200+ hours unless you have a very predictable atmospheric pattern.

This winter is turning out to be a complete and total disaster. This is almost as bad as the big El Nino winter, I think around 1998 when winter was pretty much canceled that year.
