But even here, Jan011 didn't bring any real snow (thank God).

Was more or less average here, everything you'd expect from a normal January, except it was dry.

We received bang on average rainfall in 2011 for the first time since 2005! Quite a rare feat these days. 2011 was our hottest year on record with a mean maximum of 25.7C/105F as well as the warmest min temps, interestingly only 1 very hot day (40C/104F+) whereas we usually have an average of 3, just consistently warm to hot. Second year in a row that we've beaten the annual average maximum temperature record. Also we had 27 consecutive days between early February to early March above 30C/86F which set another new record.

I was collecting this year's monthly climate data from various cities in Finland and collected some of last year's stats as well, so I'll have something to compare with when the year's over. A "bit" late, but I thought I'll share them with you in case someone's interested. The stats are from the Helsinki Airport, 17 km from the coast and at a rural location, which makes them 'neutral'.

Sorry, no snow data, because the Finnish met institute only collects total precipitation.

Notes: February was much colder than usual, April and October somewhat warmer, June, July, November and December much warmer. Not a single day in August recorded a max of 25C, which is rare, and the max of 6.3C in March was pathetic.
The first half of the year and November very dry, December extremely wet. February was sunnier than normal, September gloomier.
The year's max of 31.4C was pretty average, but as it was recorded on June 10th, makes it highly unusual. As well was the December high of 9.3C recorded on the 27th. The Christmas was black, 4 of 10 are on average.

I'll post the stats from various locations when the year's over.
