Sunshine hours in Kodiak is likely somewhere near 1500, while Caribou is around 2000.
There are currently no Caribou in Caribou, ME. Used to be a population (the city's name actually means something) until they were all hunted. There have been reintroduction attempts, but they have been stymied mostly by predation, particularly by black bears. I assumed there are moose in Caribou as most interior New England has a moose population (haven't seen one yet, though one got hit by a car about 10 miles south of me).
Kodiak, AK has no caribou either but it has bears — bears the size of small cars. Supposed to look very green like Ireland in the summer.
Caribou by a mile mainly because of the hotter summers. 60 degrees as a high in summer is not nearly warm enough imo. I prefer the wider temperature spread that Caribou offers.
Been to kodiak, nice place but small. It is on an island so not many places to go. Never been to Caribou but perfer to be on the mainland.
