All that you do is select what temperatures you like in the hottest month and the coldest month. Then if you like you can convert it into the scale's number. For instance, if your ideal hottest month has a daily mean below 13C, and your coldest month has a daily mean below -14C, you would express it as something like "summer -10, winter -10".

Then you post that "summer -10, winter -10" (or whatever your results are) in this thread, and then I will add you to the chart. An updated version of my chart will be released when it is convenient.

Remember that the temperatures are in degrees Celsius, so if you use Fahrenheit be sure to convert it. This can be easily be done either with Google or with Cambium's fantastic table.

Also remember that the temperatures are daily means, i.e. if your ideal month had a high of 80F and a low of 60F, the figure that would go into the chart would be 70F, the average of the low and high. So if you have highs and lows picked out average them to get your result.

Another suggestion: Write down the location where the person is from. So for me you would put CTUSA. Something like that. I bet you a lot of Warm fans arent from extremely warm climates and vise versa for Cold fans.
I wanted to do this; have a chart that shows the difference between someone's dream climate and their current climate. Going down the list:

Listing location (best guess weather station): winter, summer on the scale

Lemme know if I got anything wrong. I'm surprised that only one other poster lives in a place with colder winters than me.

These could put into another chart. Maybe I could make the difference chart I mentioned; or place these points on top of the old one and make arrows?

Yeah, thats exactly what I was thinking. Pretty cool. Thanks! Nice work.

It would be cool to see the preferences yet where we're living. Not sure if those were actual numbers but mine was -10 & -10. (no, thats not a joke)

Also, people need to remember, the temperature is based on the "coldest" and "hottest" month.

For instance. I picked the coldest month I prefer the temp to be between 2° & 10° degrees F. (6° is the mean), that means the other months of the year are warmer. Which is fine by me. I need at least a 6 degree month.

I hope I interpreted that right. Its not every single month, right?

You did it right personally I used (MeanMin + MeanMax)/2 for coldest & warmest month, yielding respectively 23.5°C and 28.5°C.

(I know there is an alternative mesure of the "24 hr mean", which I still didn't really get - is it based on hourly observations?)
