It would be nice to have these temps over here. Ok, probably not. It wouldn't be the same without the palms. -9°C would set a new record.

what are the record lows? Wikipedia doesn't list? I assume your current town is about the same as Nice or are there any microclimate effects?

It never went below freezing in November since the records began in 1943. The closest weather station to me is even milder, it never went below -6.9°C and has never seen frost in December! Nearby Cannes went down to -12°C but, contrary to Nice, it has never recorded an ice day.
