It looks like the rain chances we thought we'd get have fizzled out. Nothing but hot, dry weather ahead, and this will likely persist until September. We may be looking at one of the hottest Junes on record if current models are correct.

^ Ah, of course there would have to be rain and fog . Looks like a nice start to June.
In my fantasy climate, Patricianopolis, the start of June can be fairly be described as cold, even among Patricians. After a minor icing event on the 25th, temperatures warmed into the 50's with some scattered thunderstorms. A strong cold front came through and the 31st of May featured rain changing to snow with temperatures steady in the 30's. In the evening the temperature dropped and there was a potent snow and wind storm. During the night of May 31-June 1 a foot of snow accumulated in Patricianopolis. This was the biggest single storm on record that stretched into June, although only 6 inches of this actually fell during June 1 (after midnight).
Yesterday in Patricianopolis was bucking for the coldest high temperature ever recorded in June, with clearing skies and 22F for a low and 38F for a high. Last night was a classic radiational cooling night with calm winds and clear skies. Temperatures this morning plunged to 17F, which approached the monthly record low of 13F. A foot of fresh powder and a temperature of 17F on June 2nd is a rare treat for winter fans even in this climate.
Temperatures are currently warming up and it is a blue dome day today. Below is the basic forecast for the next 10 days:
June 2: Sunny, 46F
June 3: Mostly sunny, 25/55F
June 4: Few showers, 37/56F
June 5: Partly cloudy, 36/61F
June 6: Rain and wind, 42/55F
June 7: Rain, snow, and wind, 34/49F
June 8: Mostly sunny, 32/60F
June 9: Sunny, 36/63F
June 10: Partly cloudy, 40/65F
June 11: Partly cloudy, 41/68F
Today's average temperatures are 61/38F, so this coming week will be cooler than normal. The average snowfall for June is 0.45 inches, although most Junes do not receive any snowfall. This month has already been much snowier than normal.
I calculated the average sunshine hours for my dream climate from January 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012 and it's slightly less than two hours a day. Monthly that's approximately 60 hours and yearly only around 720 (lots of rounding here). Perhaps my sunshine preferences are more dismal than I thought. But looking at the forecasts I've made up for July and August, both months should each finally crack 100 hours. Percentage-wise that's still pretty low though. For this year it may struggle to reach 1000 hours.
It looks like Orlando, FL is going to have a much cooler than average summer this year, though still with PM thunderstorms
