A chilly month with the mean running 2.5 F below average. Rainfall and snowfall weren't exceptional. The first five days of the month were rainy, but then it was generally cold and sunny for the rest of the month with a very respectable 163 hours of sunshine. Quite the contrast after a dismal February (21.71 hours). It was notably cold towards the end of the month.
Up and down we go, as it usually does in spring. A low pressure system will push some moist air with plenty of rain and it will be rather cool as well. Clearing up for the weekend, though, and Sunday will be the warmest day so far this year.
Yesterday marked the last day of the warm wave which was present over the past week. Due to a strong warm front, yesterday was the peak of the warmth, reaching a high of 70F, setting a new record high. 0.23 inches of rain fell yesterday, associated with thunderstorms which swept through the region overnight just before the cold front. The average sustained wind yesterday was 36 mph, and the peak gust was 74 mph, the first hurricane-force wind of the month.

Weekly Analysis
This week will feature temperatures well below average, possibly even below 0F, which will be a stark contrast from the 60-70F afternoons of last week. Currently the region is in the grip of a strong cold front, which will usher in a much different pattern which will persist for the next few weeks. Gusts up to 60 mph are possible in the wake of frontal passage, and windy conditions will persist for 2-3 days. On the 10th and 11th a snowstorm may dump up to a foot of snow in isolated areas. In the wake of this storm, even colder air will be pumped into the region. Highs below 20F are likely on the 12th and 13th.
Autumn has starded a few weeks ago in Coolville, 40ºS and an elevation of 800mts.
